STATEMENT - Easter Greetings 2021Published on April 04, 2021
This spring, as Christians across Ontario and the world approach the Easter and Orthodox Easter Season, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting our communities through this difficult time.
This year, even though it will not be possible for families and friends to physically come together for an Easter service or celebration, I encourage everyone to take this time to reflect or pray for strength, hope and health. We can and should, find ways to connect virtually, through the use of technology, the internet and our telephones.
The story of Christ resurrected is one of hope and faith renewed, and one which should inspire and remind us that God’s love will see us through the darkest times. The Resurrection and Christ’s act of ultimate self-sacrifice remind us that life is a precious gift, and we must do what we can to ensure our loved ones, our friends, colleagues and neighbours, are cared for and protected through our adherence to physical distancing and social isolation at this time.
As we take the time to prepare our hearts for the celebrated Resurrection, we also give thanks to the many front-line health care workers, delivery people, grocery store clerks, and essential services staff, who remain undaunted and committed to serving our communities through this difficult time. We thank them and pray for their health and safety.
To all Christians entering their Easter and Orthodox Easter seasons, please, stay home, be well, seek guidance and peace in the teachings of Christ. Happy Easter and Happy Orthodox Easter, and God Bless.
